L’Occitane's story began in 1976, when founder Olivier Baussan, with nothing but a solid knowledge of plants, a small truck and a traditional steam distiller, began to harvest wild rosemary and produce pure essential oil to be sold in the markets of Provence. Since then, L’Occitane has developed skincare products and fragrances that are natural and authentic, effective and deliciously appealing.
