L’Occitane's story began in 1976, when founder Olivier Baussan at the age of 23, with nothing but solid knowledge of plants, a small truck and a traditional steam distiller, began to harvest wild rosemary and produce pure essential oil which he sold in the markets of Provence. Since then, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean cultures and combining nature with research, L’Occitane has developed skincare products and fragrances that are natural and authentic, effective and deliciously appealing.
